In 1953, Pakistan Air Force established a public school in Sargodha with the objective of providing affordable quality education to deserving students selected from all over Pakistan. Graduates of the school were then fed, primarily, into the Air Force (some joined the other Services or civilian organizations). The scheme was (and still is) a resounding success.

In 1998, Sargodha Old Boys Association formed a non-profit organization called Sargodhians Spirit Trust (SST). The aim of SST is to set up boarding schools that would provide quality education to students from all over Pakistan and at the same time allow underprivileged deserving students to participate through a programme of scholarships.

It gives me immense pleasure in informing you that the Board of Trustees of the Sargodhian Spirit Trust (SST) has entered into a joint venture with the Rashid Memorial Welfare Trust (RMWO) for the creation and operation of the SST Public School Rashidabad at Tando Allayar Khan in Sindh. In June 2001, we signed a memorandum of understanding with RMWO, witnessed by the Governor Sindh for executing the project.

You will agree with me that the creation of a model institution using principles based on creativity, liberation of thought, objective curricula and the imbibement of Islamic values will require tremendous effort and financial support.

As Chairman of the SST, I request you to join us in this noble project and donate wholeheartedly through cash/material and if you deem fit, through your expertise. I will also urge you to pass the message on to other Sargodhians as well to join us in our efforts.

Looking forward to your cooperation and support,

Yours sincerely,

(FAROOQ FEROZE KHAN)
Air Chief Marshal (Retd.)
