GOOD NEWS

 

The committee for Golden Jubilee Celebration has been very active. The President of the Association had called another meeting on 14th January to discuss the progress on preparation of forthcoming celebration on 28th February, 1st and 2nd March 2003.

 

Following decisions were taken:-

 

NO. 1

 

Golden Jubilee Edition (Magazine)

 

Advertisements: Top class companies are approached. This will help reduce the cost. Sargodhians who are heading companies or are in a position to send advertisement should come forward with a full page Ad by themselves. One page would cost Rs. 25000/-, the back page cover would cost Rs. 50,000/-

 

Lt. Gen. Ahsan Saleem Hyat is the Chief Adviser for its publication. He has a request to those who wish to send their write-up should send along with a photograph and Roll No.

It is suggested by Gen. Ahsan that every entry should be represented by an entry mate, who should provide information about their entry for example Entry No 1, 100 students, and performance of few who have done well. Entry-wise write up will be very informative but any one wishes to send his article is most welcome. Kindly let me know the names of those who can help, enabling me to directly write to them and request.

 

We need old photographs also. If you can send them, we will return after the publication of the magazine.

 

NO. 2

 

All teachers are cordially invited to attend. If you have their addresses please get in touch with them on our behalf and extend invitation to them or give us their addresses. We will send the invitation ourselves.

 

 

NO. 3

 

A commemorative stamp will be printed by the Post Master General and Communication Minister. The President OBA has discussed with the concerned authorities. Hopefully it would be done.

 

NO. 4

 

Lt. Gen. Ehsan has discussed the media plans with Maj Gen. Rashid Qureshi and Gp Capt S. M. Hali. We need photographs of different school activities as soon as possible. Please send them if you have any. The media will also organize discussions on TV with a few Sargodhians.

 

NO. 5

 

CONTRIBUTION FOR MONUMENT CONSTRUCTION

 

The design has been approved. It’s a costly affair but is required to commemorate the event. It will be unveiled by the Chief Guest, the President of Pakistan in the presence of our Patron-in-Chief ACM Mushaf Ali Mir and all of us. It is suggested that all Sargodhians should chip in with their contributions. Please do send the cheque to the College Principal, Air Cdre (R) Qadir Sargaana at the school or to the Secretary at the Head office, Islamabad. Cheques should be payable to “SARGODHIANS”. Amount Rs. 1000/-

We would like to thank our teacher from UK Mr. Asim Beg Chughtai who has already contributed Rs. 10,000/-, Professor Aslam Khan (113-F) from Seattle University (USA) Rs. 29000/-, Mr. Humayun Mirza (189-S) contributed Rs. 10,000/-. The amount is to meet the expenses for the Golden Jubilee monument.

 

NO. 6

 

Gifts and souvenirs are under preparation and they are very selective items. Please collect the gifts from the counter.

 

NO. 7

 

LODGING/BOARDING/TRAVELLING OF GUESTS KHI/LHR/PESHAWAR

 

Respective chapters are to create a cell to finalize list of all guests. Arrangements for guests on 28th February should be ready by 20th February; C-130 Air Craft sorties can be arranged from Karachi. The President OBA has offered to arrange two train buggies to run from Karachi to Sargodha. Those who wish to travel with their wives please enlist their names with Mr. Shahabuddin (Karachi) and enjoy by Chanab Express recalling old memories of traveling to Sargodha. We hope a few Sargodhians will avail this facility. For Lahore and Peshawar Buses can be arranged. The Vice President of each chapter to coordinate with the Base Commanders and the undersigned. Boarding and lodging will be arranged by the Principal of the school. List of the guest must be sent in advance to the principal as per cut off period i.e. latest by 15th February 2003.

 

C-130 flights from Karachi will take off in the afternoon on 28th February 2003. The chapters head would be informed of the flight schedule.

 

 

NO. 8

 

Programme:

 

1st March

 

After breakfast every one will move to the school auditorium to listen to the representatives of each chapter who would apprise the audience about their activities. It starts at 10 AM; house wise photographs can also be taken after the session.

 

Foundation laying ceremony of the monument will be done by the Chief Guest in the afternoon. Thereafter, people would go to picnic spots few would like to play golf while the rest may like to stay back and enjoy themselves meeting friends.

 

In the evening fire work will be on display followed by dinner and the musical session.

 

2nd March

 

Have Breakfast between 8 to 9:30 AM. At 10 AM OBA and SST meeting will be held at the school auditorium and conclude at 12 PM.

 

Lunch between 12:30 to 2 PM. The program concludes at 2 PM.

 

NO. 9

 

Return Programme

 

Return flights would start in the afternoon on Sunday 02 March after lunch. Similarly the buses will follow suit.

 

SPECIAL NOTE

 

NO. 1

 

Have you confirmed your participation in the Golden Jubilee and filled out the information required by PAF Public School Sargodha on prescribed format? If not then please do it now.

 

NO. 2

 

The committee is considering holding an exhibition of Old Photographs at the Punjab Art Gallery near the Sports Stadium at Rawalpindi on 23rd or 24th February. We would therefore need a large number of photographs to display. Each chapter can also think to hold displays. Collection of photographs is a must. It’s a good suggestion from Gp Capt. S. M. Hali and Maj. Gen. Rashid Qureshi. We hope the families and friend can visit and enjoy seeing them

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGE

 

A dinner is being arranged for all Sargodhians of Islamabad and Rawalpindi Chapter on Friday 31st January 2003 at 8 PM at PAF Officers Mess on Hill opposite E-9 Golf Club. You are requested to attend along with your wife.
